Adelaide to Perth Adventure Tour

Day 1

### Adelaide to Mount Remarkable National Park We leave Adelaide early and begin the first stretch of our coast to coast adventure, heading north through regional South Australia towards the Yorke Peninsula. Our first stop is Wallaroo, where there is time to stretch the legs, grab a coffee and settle into the trip properly. Back on the road, we continue through small coastal towns before arriving in Port Germein, home to one of the longest timber jetties in Australia. By late afternoon, we reach Mount Remarkable National Park in the Southern Flinders Ranges. This part of South Australia feels completely underrated, with rugged mountain scenery, ancient river red gums and wildlife everywhere once the sun starts to drop. “ One of those places people never expect to love as much as they do.” After setting up camp at Mambray Creek, we head out on a short bushwalk through the national park before settling in for our first camp dinner together. By this point, the group is usually starting to relax, swap stories and properly settle into life on the road. Tonight, we roll out our swags beneath a huge outback sky filled with stars. **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Mambray Creek Campground **Meals Included**: Dinner **Distance Travelled**: Approx. 320 km

Day 2

### Mount Remarkable to the Eyre Peninsula We wake to the sounds of the bush before heading out on the Davey’s Gully Hike, an easy morning walk through native bushland with views stretching across Spencer Gulf and the surrounding ranges. From here, we continue west towards the Eyre Peninsula, stopping in Kimba along the way. Known for its giant silo artwork and strong community spirit, this small outback town gives us a proper feel for regional Australia. We spend some time at Workshop26, a former tractor shed turned creative community space filled with local art, handmade goods and stories from the people who live here. Lunch today is prepared by volunteers from the Kimba Hospital Auxiliary and Royal Flying Doctor Service support crew, with proceeds helping support important services in remote South Australia. “ A small stop that gives back directly to the local community.” As the day rolls on, the scenery changes again as we arrive on the rugged coastline of the Eyre Peninsula. Huge dunes, long empty beaches and salty ocean air replace the inland farmland. By sunset, we arrive at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat, an off grid eco camp built by Untamed Escapes founders Craig and Cathy. It is relaxed, rustic and feels a long way from city life. “ This is the kind of place where people usually stop checking their phones altogether.” Tonight, we settle in for dinner before those interested can join the optional stargazing experience beneath some of the darkest skies in Australia. **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat **Meals Included**: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner **Distance Travelled**: Approx. 450 km

Day 3

### Baird Bay to Penong We start early this morning for one of the most unforgettable experiences of the trip, the optional Baird Bay sea lion and dolphin swim. Heading out by boat into the sheltered bay, we spend time in the water with wild Australian sea lions and bottlenose dolphins in their natural environment. The sea lions are playful, curious and incredibly fast in the water, often darting and spinning around the group while dolphins cruise through the bay nearby. There is no feeding or staged interaction here, just genuine wildlife encounters in the wild. “ Usually the moment people talk about long after the trip finishes.” For those not joining the swim, the morning is spent relaxing around Baird Bay and soaking up the coastline before the group comes back together later in the day. Lunch is included before we continue to the afternoon’s surf session with Streaky Bay Surf School. With long empty beaches and very few crowds, this part of the Eyre Peninsula makes an incredible place to learn. Over the next two hours, we hit the water with local instructors, whether it is your first time standing on a board or you are keen to improve your surfing. Those not surfing can relax on the beach, swim or take a walk along the coast. “ Not a bad place to spend an afternoon in the Australian summer.” By evening, we arrive in Penong, a tiny outback town known for its windmills, big skies and relaxed pace of life. Tonight, we settle into camp, share dinner and swap stories from a huge day on the coast. **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Penong Caravan Park **Meals Included**: Breakfast (those swimming with sea lions will have lunch provided) **Distance Travelled**: Approx. 400 km

Day 4

### Nullarbor Plain Today we begin one of Australia’s great road trips, crossing the vast Nullarbor Plain. The landscapes out here feel endless. Long straight roads, huge skies and stretches of country where there is almost nothing except red dirt and low scrub stretching to the horizon. Along the way, we stop at the famous road signs featuring camels, kangaroos and wombats, before continuing west towards the coast. At the Bunda Cliffs, the outback suddenly drops into the Southern Ocean. Standing above these towering cliffs, with waves crashing far below, gives you a real sense of just how massive and remote this part of Australia is. “ One of the most dramatic coastal views anywhere in the country.” We stop at the iconic Nullarbor Roadhouse before crossing the border into Western Australia later in the afternoon. Tonight is our most remote camp of the trip, bush camping beneath some of the darkest skies in the world. No reception, no facilities and no distractions. Just campfire conversations and stars overhead. **Accommodation**: Bush camping on the Nullarbor (no facilities) **Meals Included**: Breakfast, Dinner **Distance Travelled**: Approx. 600 km

Day 5

### Nullarbor to Cape Le Grand National Park This morning, we continue west along the famous 90 Mile Straight, the longest straight stretch of road in Australia. The drive itself becomes part of the experience out here. Roadhouses appear out of nowhere, old stories from the Nullarbor come to life through the guide, and the landscapes slowly begin to shift once again. We stop through Balladonia and Norseman before the red dirt finally gives way to bright white beaches and impossibly blue water as we approach Esperance. By afternoon, we arrive at Cape Le Grand National Park, one of the most beautiful coastal regions in Australia. “ Kangaroos on white sand, turquoise water and empty beaches, this is the side of Australia most travellers dream about.” We set up camp at Lucky Bay, our home for the next two nights. **Distance travelled**: Approximately 800 km **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Lucky Bay Campground **Meals included**: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6

### Cape Le Grand National Park Today is all about slowing down and properly experiencing Cape Le Grand. Those keen for a challenge can take on the hike up Frenchman Peak, a steep climb across granite slabs with huge views waiting at the top. Looking out across the Recherche Archipelago from the summit is one of the best rewards of the trip. The rest of the day is left open to enjoy the national park properly. Some people spend hours swimming in the bays, others head off on walking trails or simply relax on the sand with nowhere else to be. Cape Le Grand has a way of making people slow down. The beaches are unbelievably white, the water shifts between deep blue and turquoise, and even the kangaroos seem more relaxed here. “ Most people could easily spend a week here and still not want to leave.” There are no long drives today, no schedules to rush through and no shortage of incredible places to stop along the coast. As the sun drops, we return to camp for another relaxed evening at Lucky Bay. **Accommodation**: Swag camping at Lucky Bay **Meals included**: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner **Distance travelled**: Just 10 minutes around the park

Day 7

### Cape Le Grand National Park to Stirling Ranges We pack up camp and leave Esperance behind, stopping at Twilight Cove for one final swim or walk along the coast before turning inland. The drive today takes us through changing landscapes, from open farmland to rugged mountain country, with a stop in Ravensthorpe along the way. By late afternoon, we arrive in the Stirling Ranges, where sharp peaks rise straight from the bushland around us. Tonight, we stay at a quiet private campground near Mt Trio. After a few big days on the coast, the change in scenery feels completely different again. “ One of the best parts of this trip is how quickly the landscapes change from one day to the next.” **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Mt Trio in the Stirling Ranges **Meals included**: Breakfast, Dinner **Distance travelled**: Approximately 500 km

Day 8

### Stirling Ranges & South West Coast After breakfast, we head into the Porongurups for the hike to Castle Rock and the Granite Skywalk. The walk winds through tall forest and huge granite formations before opening up to views across the ranges and farmland below. Standing out on the suspended skywalk definitely tests a few people’s fear of heights. From here, we continue towards the coast and stop at The Gap and Natural Bridge near Albany, where the Southern Ocean crashes hard into the cliffs below. Later in the afternoon, we make our way to Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks, two of the best swimming spots on the south coast when conditions are right. “ This stretch of coastline is usually where people start questioning why they had never heard much about WA before.” Towards evening, we enter the forests of the Walpole region and visit the famous Giant Tingle Tree, a massive hollowed out tree that has been standing for hundreds of years. Tonight, we camp surrounded by towering forest at Quinninup. **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Quinninup Eco Tourist Park **Meals included**: Breakfast, Dinner **Distance travelled**: Around 390 km

Day 9

### Quinninup to Margaret River This morning, we spend time at the Capes Raptor Centre, one of Australia’s leading bird of prey rehabilitation centres. Rather than simply visiting, we get involved behind the scenes and help support the work being done to care for injured and displaced raptors. Eagles, hawks, owls and falcons are all part of the experience, and spending time this close to these birds gives a completely different appreciation for them. “ A hands on experience that feels genuinely meaningful rather than just another stop.” Later, we roll into Margaret River, with free time to explore the town, grab lunch or wander through local galleries and shops. The afternoon is spent tasting our way through the region with stops at handpicked local producers, stops may includes wineries, distilleries, chocolate makers or cheese producers. By evening, we arrive at our campsite in the Margaret River region, surrounded by forest and close to the coast. Depending on the season and availability, campsites may vary, but each offers the chance to slow down, settle in with the group and enjoy one final night of camping in Western Australia’s southwest. **Accommodation**: Swag camping with amenities at Fair Harvest Permaculture Farm **Meals included**: Breakfast, Dinner **Distance travelled**: Around 240 km

Day 10

### Margaret River to Perth We roll up the swags one last time before joining Wadandi custodian Josh “Koomal” Whiteland for a cultural experience through Country. The morning includes bushwalking, stories of the six Noongar seasons, bush foods, native medicine and traditional fire lighting, before continuing underground into Ngilgi Cave. Hearing the didgeridoo echo through the cave is one of the quieter moments of the trip, but also one of the most memorable. A powerful way to finish the journey across Western Australia. Later, we stop in Busselton, where there is time for a walk along the famous 1.8 km jetty and a final coffee or snack before the drive back to Perth. By the time we arrive that evening, most people are already swapping favourite moments from the trip and wondering how ten days managed to go so quickly. **Meals included**: Breakfast **Distance travelled**: Around 340 km
