Itinerary
Argentina and Uruguay, Heart of the River Plate (6 nights)
Day 1: Buenos Aires
Day 2: Buenos Aires
Breakfast. At 09:00, Buenos Aires City Tour.
You will discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires city, viewing the National Congress, the Metropolitan Cathedral next to the Government House in May Square area among other important buildings. You will catch a glimpse of the Colon Theater, one of the most important opera houses in Latin America and San Telmo, traditional neighborhood where Tango performances can be seen in many bars and restaurants. There is an important stop at La Boca colorful neighborhood, which was seat of immigrants - mainly Italians - and now home of some artists.
Enjoy Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces. Finally, La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant neighborhood where the famous cemetery is found.
Alternative at no extra cost: Buenos Aires Bike Tour. If you want a more active tour to discover the corners of Buenos Aires with a small group and pedal your way along the city streets, the bike tour is your choice.
Important: Make your choice (either Buenos Aires City Tour OR Buenos Aires Bike Tour) when booking because if you wait until last minute you might not have the spaces for a change.
Day 3: Buenos Aires
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the city. In the evening (20:00), Tango Show with dinner and transfers:
In the very heart of Puerto Madero, the newest neighborhood of Buenos Aires, this show represents the best of the porteño culture. A Tango Show is a trip to older and passionate times. Professional artists will show you their best art, singing songs and dancing typical pieces. The show consists of several parts in which you can appreciate a tango live orchestra, dancers and singers. Includes transfer in/out, a welcome drink, dinner (main course, entrée and dessert), wine or soft drinks and of course, a beautiful tango show.
Day 4: Buenos Aires - Colonia
Breakfast and check out. During the day, ferry crossing to Colonia del Sacramento. Arrival and walk to your accommodation. Check in. Free day to enjoy the cobbled stones streets of this old colonial town.
Day 5: Colonia - Montevideo
Check out. Go walking to the bus station to take the bus to Montevideo 3 Cruces bus station. Find your own way to your accommodation. Check in and free to explore.
Day 6: Montevideo
Morning pick up (about 08:00) from your accommodation to do a Montevideo City Tour:
The minivan will take you to the most important landmarks of the city to be able to enjoy and take pictures. You will visit place like Plaza de la Independencia where you can see the Puerta de la Ciudadela, the Teatro Solis, the Torre Ejecutiva, the Estevez Palace, the Salvo palace and the monument to the greatest Uruguayan hero: Jose Gervasio Artigas. Afterwards, the van will tour the main avenue of the city: 18 de Julio, to head to the National Parliament. The tour will also visit the Mercado Agricola de Montevideo (Market) that works inside a historic building and offers a wide range of local food products. The next stop will be the Jose Batlle y Ordoñez Park where you will be able to see the Centenario football stadium. The tour will then head to the Rambla de Pocitos (an avenue and park along the Rio de la Plata river). After the tour finishes, the drop off will be at your accommodation. The trip lasts about 3 hours and Spanish, English and Portuguese are spoken.
Day 7: Montevideo
Check out, regular transfer to Montevideo Carrasco Airport. End of services.
