DAY 1: LUANDA

On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon is at leisure to relax, settle in, and begin absorbing the energy of this vibrant city. DAY 2: LUANDA

Explore the bustling streets of Luanda and immerse yourself in the city's rich tapestry of history and culture. Discover the stories of the past at the Slave Museum, then ascend to the Miradouro viewpoint for sweeping panoramas of the coastline and urban landscape. Later, set out on a boat trip along the mighty Cuanza River, where the lush riverbanks are alive with birdlife and the calm waters offer a serene contrast to the city. If conditions allow, a visit to a local Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre provides insight into the region's conservation efforts. DAY 3: KALANDULA

Rising with the morning sun, we load the truck and begin our journey inland, venturing through landscapes that shift from gently rolling hills to expansive plains dotted with small settlements and winding rivers. The countryside offers a glimpse into the rhythms of rural life in Angola, where communities maintain traditions in harmony with the land around them. Midway through the day, we pause for a truck lunch, allowing time to stretch our legs and soak in the views of the vast terrain stretching to the horizon. As the afternoon progresses, the scenery becomes increasingly remote, Baobab filled valley's hinting at the wonders that await at Kalandula. By late afternoon, we arrive at our campsite, an ideal spot to relax and absorb the beauty of this seldom-visited region. DAY 4: PEDRAS NEGRAS

After breakfast at camp, we take time to view the magnificent Kalandula Falls from the eastern side before travelling around to the western bank for a walk and further viewing. Lunch is served from the truck en-route. In the afternoon, explore the unique Black Rocks on foot, marvelling at these massive granite monoliths rising from the surrounding savanna. DAY 5: RIO UIRI FARM

Awaking in this surreal environment, we depart Pedras Negras and journey southward into Angola's lush highlands. Along the way, we pass through small rural villages, tropical forests, and rolling hills, offering a glimpse into everyday life in this remote part of the country. Midway, we stop at a small town for a local restaurant experience (own expense) and stretch our legs before continuing through verdant landscapes dotted with banana plantations. By late afternoon, we arrive at the working Coffee and Banana farm at Rio Uiri -- a peaceful haven that contrasts beautifully with the wild landscapes we have traversed. DAY 6: RIO UIRI FARM

DAY 7: LOBITO

The morning begins with breakfast at the farm before we head back toward the coast, passing through lush highlands and descending into the Benguela region. Along the way, we stop at Binga Waterfall, where the Keve River tumbles onto the floodplain below, providing a refreshing lunch break and a chance to stretch your legs. Continuing onwards, we reach the small holiday town of Lobito in the afternoon, where the hotel is conveniently located in Restinga for exploring the beach, historic sites, and local attractions on foot at leisure. DAY 16: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy close encounters with Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Rhino and an abundance of antelope species, all from the comfort of the Drifters truck. Lunch is served from the truck during the drive, allowing you to maximize your time observing the Park's extraordinary fauna. Exit the Park and travel to Taleni Etosha Village Campsite in the late afternoon, where dinner is prepared by the Drifters guides under the African sky. DAY 18: WINDHOEK

A stop en-route allows for a visit to a curio market, lunch from the truck, provides a chance to stretch your legs and reflect on the wildlife encounters of the past days. On arrival in the capital city, enjoy a short city tour, highlighting Windhoek's colonial-era architecture, bustling streets, and cultural landmarks. In the evening, dinner is at the iconic Joe's Beerhouse (own expense), where local cuisine and international favourites come together in a lively atmosphere.
