Leave La Paz for Isla del Sol, where you will enjoy a hike with spectacular views.
Visit Copacabana & hike Isla del Sol (L)
Pick up at your accommodation in La Paz at approximately 7:00 a.m. for a shared bus transfer to the lakeside town of Copacabana. Arrive around noon just in time for a delicious traditional lunch and a short visit of the church and main plaza, and then take a boat to Isla del Sol (Sun Island) where you will hike to the top of the island on a traditional Inca stairway, the "Escalinatas de Yumandi". Pass by the fountain of eternal youth natural spring and drink fresh water from the mountain. As you reach the top of the island, you will be rewarded with spectacular views from either side with the snow-capped Bolivian Andes in the distance. Have dinner (not included) and get a good night's rest on this peaceful island in the middle of Lake Titicaca.
Note: Overnight in Isla del Sol is offered in budget hostel (3* and 4* hotels are not available in the area)
Enjoy a guided walk to Pilkokaina temple, before returning to La Paz after lunch.
Walk to Pilkokaina temple and return to La Paz (B/L)
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, go on a 2-hour guided walk to reach Pilkokaina Temple. Take a boat ride back to the Copacabana town for lunch, and then take a bus transfer back to La Paz bus terminal, where this amazing adventure will come to an end around 17:30 hrs.
Rain pants, rain poncho, trekking boots, sandals, warm socks, sweater, thermals, hat, gloves, sun hat, sun block, sun glasses, flashlight/torch, camera, extra batteries and memory card (there is limited to no electricity available during the trek), waterproof bags for your camera, hand sanitizer, personal first aid kit, water bottle.
