Embark on this 8-day adventure to discover the wonders of Buenos Aires, as well as the magnificent Iguazu Falls. Tour the cosmopolitan capital city’s beautiful monuments and wonderful mix of traditional and modern architecture. Delight yourself with a wonderful Tango show accompanied by a delicious dinner at the famous “La Ventana”. Travel to Puerto Iguazu on a night bus and take 2 great tours to the famous Iguazu Falls! Visit the Argentinean side for a more intimate up-close experience next to the falls. Marvel at the renowned "Devil's Throat" from a bridge perched over the edge of the rushing water. On the Brazilian side, you can enjoy panoramic views of the impressive Iguazu falls. End your trip here or take an optional night bus back to Buenos Aires.
Day by day itinerary:
DAY 1: Arrival to Buenos Aires
Regular transfer from Ezeiza International Airport with the Hostel Shuttle. Timetable from Ezeiza to Buenos Aires: 9:15 am, 12:00 pm, 2:45 pm, 8:10 pm. Check in at the selected accommodation.
DAY 2: Buenos Aires - City tour (B)
Breakfast. 9:00 am City Tour: Discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires, admire the National Congress and the Metropolitan Cathedral next to the Government House in May Square area. Visit the Colon Theater, one of the most important opera houses in Latin America and San Telmo, traditional neighborhood where Tango performances can be seen in many bars and restaurants. Stop at La Boca colorful neighborhood, which was seat of immigrants - mainly Italians - and now home of some artists. Enjoy Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces. Finally, La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant neighborhood where the famous cemetery was found.
DAY 3: Buenos Aires - Free day - Tango Night (B/D)
Breakfast. Free Day. In the evening (8:00 pm), Tango Show with dinner in La Ventana: In the very heart of San Telmo neighborhood, this refurbished historic "conventillo" is a classic building of Buenos Aires culture. LA VENTANA is a trip to older times.
Professional artists will show you their best art by playing their songs and dancing typical pieces, shared with the best tango orchestras. The show consists of several parts in which you can appreciate 2 tango orchestras, a folkloric group, dancers and singers.
DAY 4: Night bus Buenos Aires - Puerto Iguazu (B)
Breakfast and check out at 11:00 am. In the evening, departure to Puerto Iguazú by night bus.
DAY 5: Arrival Puerto Iguazu - Free time
Arrival in Puerto Iguazu at about midday. Transfer to selected accommodation and check in. Free day.
DAY 6: Puerto Iguazu - Excursion to the Iguazu Falls, Argentinian side (B)
Breakfast. At 8:00 am Full Day Excursion to the Falls, Argentine side: This Tour will take you to visit a part of the Iguazú National Park. It preserves 67.000 ha. of giant trees, vines and ferns living with multicolored butterflies, birds and mammals, all of them part of the rich local flora and fauna. The park was declared Natural World Heritage in 1984, due to its scenic beauties and the great biological diversity of the subtropical jungle. The famous falls are in the heart of this Park. You will start the visit at the Local Museum and continue the Tour along the Lower Trail, from where you can see the " Two sisters Falls", the "Bossetti Fall", the "Hidden Fall", a panoramic view of "San Martin island" and the "Union Fall".
Later you walk the Upper Trail shifting along walkways located above major falls up to the majestic "San Martin Fall” from where you have a panoramic view of the Brazilian falls. Finally, you go with the Train of the Jungle up to "Devil's Throat" station. From there, after 1,000 meters walk along the catwalks, you will reach the spectacular "Devil's Throat", where the Iguazu river expresses itself with all its strength and the falling water gives the illusion of magic rainbows.
DAY 7: Puerto Iguazu - Excursion to the Iguazu Falls, Brazilian side (B)
Breakfast. At 8:00 am Excursion to the Falls Brazilian Side, half day: Your guides take you to visit the wonderful Iguazu Falls, on the Brazilian side, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Argentine water falls. You will get close to "Floriano", "Deodoro," and "Benjamin" waterfalls, and the walkways lead you also to "Santa Maria Falls." (Be aware of the visa needs if you go to the Brazilian side, eg: Australia, USA, Canada, China, etc)
DAY 8: End of Trip in Puerto Iguazu (Optional night bus back to Buenos Aires) (B)
Breakfast. 11 am: Check out. Transfer to Airport or Bus Station. End of the services or take the optional Night Bus back to Buenos Aires.
* The transfer from Ezeiza International Airport is only included during the regular timetable, outside of those hours you will pay for the transfer yourself.
* Don’t forget to bring your own towel if you have chosen to stay in a Hostel Dorm Room.
* Remember to take care of visa arrangements before going to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls.
Important Note (for travels in Argentina):
Please remember that the Argentine Immigration Office is charging ALL citizens from the United States and Australia a "Reciprocity Fee". You are responsible for paying for this fee online and printing your receipt, which you must present to the Customs Authority upon entering the country. There are no exemptions to this new fee and it must be paid regardless if you are staying for a few hours, making a flight connection or staying for a longer period of time. Please note that for some nationalities, the option to pay for multiple entrances does not exist. You are responsible for having these documents in order prior to arrival.
